Pro-active disaster prevention

With the best intentions in the world accidents do sometimes happen but with careful planning an accident needn't be a disaster!

At Geek-Guru we plan our infrastructures with a number of complimentary protection mechanisms that prevent a failure in one part of the system from causing additional damage elsewhere. Redundant hard disks, uninterruptible power supplies and regular backups are all relatively cheap but each adds another layer of protection between you and potential disaster.

At Geek-Guru we can work with you to plan a disaster prevention and recovery plan and implement changes to ensure your systems are both stable and secure. If the worst does happen we also offer a rapid response service to get you going in the quickest times possible.

Disaster... What disaster? That must be Geek-Guru!

Why your backup should never be used

A failure in one part of an IT system can cause a cascade of problems and proactive disaster prevention means stopping this cascade at the earliest possibility to minimise disruption.

Many companies will do regular backups each night but backups should always be your recovery of last resort. Performing a full restore can cause hours of downtime where a simple change to your system could have prevented the problem before it even started.
